The World Has Ended and There Is No Time to Cook

You wake up one morning and find out “it” has finally happened. Maybe the currency has collapsed. Maybe oil imports have stopped. Maybe a solar storm has hit the continent.
It’s not long before the nation’s electric grid blinks out.
Collapsing infrastructure can be stressful enough. Getting clean water and staying warm will be priority number one. You don’t need the added stress of making a fire pit and soaking beans.
Eventually, you’ll have a complex daily routine for meeting your needs. But for those first few days, simplicity rules.
You can eat beans cold right out of the can…But if you’re not used to eating the “musical fruit” then you may find meeting all your protein needs through beans (4-6 cups per day) can be a gut-wrenching experience.
Protein powders are a better alternative. Just add water and shake. I’m no fan of soy powder – lots of health problems associated with it. Whey’s good if you can get an organic source and find it doesn’t upset your stomach.
But one of the best sources is rice protein powder. Don’t confuse rice protein with rice milk. Rice milk is actually very low in protein. Its color is about as much as it has in common with dairy milk.
Rice protein powder, on the other hand, is packed with protein. A few small scoops can meet your daily needs. And because it is derived from sprouted, fermented brown rice, it’s very easy to digest.
The only problem with most rice protein is the texture. They taste chalky. This is true of every rice protein powder I know of except one. And that one is the one I recommend you stock up on.
